Group Use Guidelines
Greetings,

This group has adopted the same guidelines as the previous Yahoo Group wich were originally written by Lyla Wolfenstein (mom to Corina and Oscar).

Here are the established guidelines for use of this group, sent regularly as a reminder on how to best post and communicate with group members.

This group is designed as an information sharing group, rather than a discussion group, as there is a need for an efficient, low-volume group that will not overwhelm the over 200 folks subscribed.

There is another discussion group called "TrilliumCommunityDiscussion" for networking, business promotion, resource sharing and discussion. Please consider joining that group (by going to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TrilliumCommunityDiscussion and clicking on the "join this group" button toward the top of the page) if you have a business you'd like to promote to the Trillium community, or enjoy discussing educational and community related issues and events, and sharing casually with other Trillium families.

So, in the interest of making this list the best possible school communication tool it can be, lets all please try to follow these guidelines:

1) feel free to post requests for information, either trillium related (such as - "the calendar says ____ - can someone clarify?" or "does anyone want to form a carpool?" or community related, such as "can anyone recommend a good dog kennel" or announcements of *free* items, of a personal nature, that you are giving away. If the request is Trillium related, a good place to start before posting to the list would be to check with your liaison, or if it is an administrative issue, Arianne or Stephanie.

2) if you reply to such requests or announcements or questions, please do so *directly* to the person who posted, *not* to the whole group. Do this by copying their email address, hitting reply, and pasting their email address in over the group's name. If it is a school related question, one of the admin folks will notice and post a general clarification so anyone else who is wondering will see that answer, rather than the whole list seeing a slew of answers, which may or may not contradict each other.

3) please do *not* post about school related concerns or issues - instead please bring these concerns to the appropriate school representative, which will usually be either your child's teacher or one of the admin staff (Arianne or Stephanie).

4) Many calendar events have contact people attached to them, as well as more detailed data so some questions will be able to be answered by clicking on the calendar events for specific events on the web site at www.trilliumcharterschool.org

5) Please remember that this is a moderated group, so it may be up to a day before the post appears. I will notify the group if i am away for more than a day.

6) Please DO NOT post anything of a political nature, or a fundraising nature that benefits other organizations beyond Trillium, nor should you post items for sale or advertise your business (this is fine on the off topic list.) If someone asks for a specific recommendation, and you can fulfill their need, feel free to respond to them privately by email.

7) My ability to return posts to originators when they are inadvertantly addressed to the whole list, or when they are inappropriate for some reason, depends on the overall volume of messages I am processing that day. Therefore if your post does not show up on the list, or if you *think* you replied to a person directly but never heard back, after checking your "Sent" folder, feel free to email me for further clarification.

Thanks for your time and attention - I look forward to a great year of clear communication at Trillium! I will send this out as a special notice intermittently, as a reminder and for new subscribers.

Subscribing to Trillium-parent

Subscribe to Trillium-parent by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator.

    You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.

    If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
